Matola makes his return

james_matolaJOHANNESBURG - Free State Stars defender, James Matola, is set to make a return to topflight football in a fortnight after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. (Pictured: James Matola cant wait to get back on the field again.)

The Zimbabwe-born centre-back said at the weekend that he had recovered from a knee injury that has kept him out of action for the better part of the season. I will resume playing two weeks from now and I cant wait to play again, he said.

Matola went under the knife to cure a knee injury he suffered last season when his team finished a credible fourth in the Absa Premiership. The former Circle United, Dynamos and Buymore captain has been loaned to first division side Cara Kicks to regain fitness. His absence has been sorely felt as the Stars backline leaks like a sieve, condemning the club to the lower echelons of the log.
