HARRAE - Three soccer stars from Monomotapa have joined newly-crowned African champions, TP Mazembe, of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Midfielders Chris Semakweri and Muthulisi Maphosa, and striker Daniel Zokoto concluded the deal in Lubumbashi at the weekend. Monoz treasurer, Bekithemba “Far” Ndlovu, confirmed the move, but refused to discuss the money that changed hands.
Monoz director, Solomon Mugavazi, club secretary, David Makombe, and committee member, Hope Chizuzu, flew to Lubumbashi at the weekend to conclude the finer details of the matter.
TP Mazembe, one of the richest clubs in Africa, was playing Nigeria’s Heartland in the final of the prestigious African Champions League which they won 3-2 on aggregate to lift the coveted African club title.
