James Kambarume, 26, of Infantry Battalion, stationed at the Joshua Mqabuko Airport, was convicted on his own plea of guilt when he appeared before Bulawayo
Magistrate, Thobekile Mkosana Matimbe, last week.
Kambarume was charged with stealing six rounds of ammunition from Infantry Battalion in November last year and selling them to Tarugarira Mudadi.
Mudadi was arrested in possession of the ammunition and implicated Kambarume, leading to his arrest.
The Bulawayo Magistrate last week sentenced him to 12 months in prison with
labour, suspended for three years because he was court marshalled after his arrest last year.
The remaining six months were suspended on condition that he complete 210 hours
of community service at Induna Primary School in Bulawayo.
