Jambo pledges more goals for Chiefs

kaizer_chiefsJOHANNESBURG Zimbabwean international and Kaizer Chiefs leftback Zhaimo Jambo, who last week scored his first goal for South African club, pledged to find the net more often and help Chiefs to a respectable finish in the ABSA premiership.

Jambo insisted that the goal he scored against Maritzburg United was a not a fluke but heralded greater things to come in his Chiefs career. Jambo scored Amakhosis second goal as the Soweto club tore Maritzburg to shreds eventually winning the match 3-1 last week in Pretoria.

I am focusing on scoring more goals for the club, Jambo told media in Johannesburg last week. I scored eight goals last season for (new Zimbabwe champions) Gunners and it was about time I opened my account for the Amakhosi. It felt really great scoring a goal finally for the club. The coaching staff has been urging us to attack every time we get an opportunity. It happened that I scored on Sunday last week but most importantly we won the game against a very tough team,

The 22-year-old Jambo, one of three Zimbabwean players signed by Chiefs during the pre-season, has defied the criticism that greeted his signing by maintaining a stranglehold in the leftback position. His form has relegated such players as Punch Masenamela to the bench.
