Trade workshop charts future

businessMUTARE The EU-funded Trade Capacity Building Project (TCBP) will next week hold a two-day workshop in Vumba on economic and trade development.


Project coordinator James Jowa said presentations would be delivered by some of the country’s business, socio-economic and trade experts.

The major objective of the workshop is to appraise private sector stakeholders on current economic and trade related developments in Zimbabwe, and offer suggestions on strategies to enhance the competitiveness of business enterprises, Jowa said.

The workshop would run under the theme: Zimbabwe’s Current Economic and Trade Performance – Future Prospects in the Context of Enhanced Regional and International Integration.

Among organisations expected to make presentations at the workshop are Zimtrade, CZI, ZNCC, Zimra, Zimbabwe Cross Border Traders Association, Shipping and Freight Forwarding Agents Association of Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Economic Policy Analysis and Research Unit and the Trades and Development Studies Centre.
