The Baby boy singer is scheduled to stage her first concert in South Africa at the World Cup tournament. All eyes will be on Beyonce, who will perform alongside her husband Jay Z.
The sassy singer, 27, who secretly married rapper Jay-Z in April last year, is currently riding a wave with her third studio album, I Am Sasha Fierce, which features hits like If I Were a Boy, Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), Halo, Sweet Dreams, Broken-Hearted Girl and her latest single collaboration with Lady GaGa, Video Phone. Beyonce, along with R&B singer and Lady GaGas producer Akon, have also confirmed their involvement in 2010 FIFA World Cup soundtrack project.
Akon has confirmed that he has been hired as musical director for the World Cup. Im the official music co-ordinator,” Akon said. “It means Ill produce the official World Cup song and Ill oversee all the official music. Little has been revealed about the soundtrack itself. We dont know if Akon only produces or also sings on the anthem. The list of musicians involved in the project is also being strictly kept under wraps. But it has been confirmed that Beyonce will be one of the celebrity stars at the opening games. 2010 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place between June 11 and July 11, 2010 in South Africa. It is expected to attract over 350000 soccer fans worldwide.
