What I found of interest is the claim that the person who was supposed to be suspended was not aware, as the party had not yet informed him. They feared that if Cross became aware of his suspension, the affair could open a can of worms. However, The Herald did not tell its readers when the party would inform Cross about his suspension. Although I am not saying whether the MDC should suspend Cross or not, I find it very hypocritical and shocking that for a paper like The Herald, it is printing that and then failing to report on the daily squabbles in Zanu (PF).
The Herald wants to bring the fictitious Rhodesian element into the story, but one can see how desperate the paper is to unearth non-existent squabbles in the MDC. I feel pity for promising young journalists like Takunda Maodza who are being used by fading politicians to spin such shameless articles. I would urge still untainted journalists from the Zimpapers stable, such as Maodza, not be used for selfish gains by these Zanu (PF) politicians who have since been rejected by the electorate.
Why dont you report about the daily infighting that is taking place in Zanu (PF) in provinces such as Mashonaland West, Manicaland and Masvingo? Please dont take your readers for granted, we really know what party has divisions that are threatening to split a party lie. They are in Zanu (PF) and nowhere else. Preserve your journalism ethics and dont be used by outgoing media hangmen such as George Charamba, Tafataona Mahoso and the political turncoat Jonathan Moyo.
