Kabamba on a mission to promote Zim music

music_notesJOHANNESBURG: The Democratic Republic of Congo-born producer says he wants to take the Zimbabwean Rhumba to another level.

Speaking to The Zimbabwean, Delphin Kabamba said he had produced for more than fifty Zimbabwean groups on different musical genres. Formed five years ago KB Productions has produced for artists like Chase Skuza, Ndolwane Super Sounds, Ndux Malax Juniour, Mokis Connection, Joseph Simango and Mutanda Band, Madalaboy and Allen Ndoda to mention but a few.

Kabamba used to sing for a band called Super Care in Harare where he stayed for five years. Rhumba music is similar to the one from my country. It is like Kanindo. We also share a similar culture in a way. I want to see Zimbabwean music improve, he said. The producer said he preferred live music for its originality. Delphin also plays guitar for other musicians who record in his studio. He has played for Martin Ngwenya and Tjehanga Brothers and Gift Bro amongst others. The bulk of his clients come from Zimbabwe because he says he understands their music better.
