NRZ in court over wage dispute

nrz_logoBULAWAYO - The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) has been dragged to the High Court by the rail parastatals workers union over a wage dispute.

The Zimbabwe Amalgamated Railway Workers Union (ZARWU) also pressed allegations of harassment and victimization of NRZ employees. The President of ZARWU, Linda Masarira, and the Secretary-General, Abel Mahlangu, confirmed taking the rail company to court.

The working conditions for workers are not good and we have not been paid since November last year. We do not even have money to send our children to school this term, said Masarisa. The case has been postponed to March 10, 2010.
