Praise for Chiefs youngsters

vladimir_vermezovicPOLOKWANE - Kaizer Chiefs coach, Vladimir Vermezovic (pictured), paid a glowing tribute to the teams youngsters after the Johannesburg-based outfit clinched the inaugural Peter Mokaba Cup in Polokwane last Sunday.

Zimbabwean star Knowledge Musona gave a commendable performance in the semi-final against Bidvest Wits. I am very pleased with the performance of the likes of Knowledge, Michael Nkambule, and Mandla Masango, who played in the first game against Bidvest Wits. They are the future of the club. Nkambule was not originally in my plans as he missed the pre-season, but now he got his chance because we are in another pre-season. I was pleased with his performance, so are the rest of the players, said Vermezovic after Chiefs demolished Supersport United 4-2 to win yet another trophy.

The Serbian told media that his focus would now shift to the Premiership. The league remains the most important thing for me now, and it would have been nice if we had beaten SuperSport (United) in a league game. I still believe that we have an outside chance to win the championship this season, he said.

To realize that dream, he will rely on the form of the Zimbabwean brigade of Tinashe Nengomasha, Thomas Sweswe, Zhaimu Jambo and Muson.
