Cape Town - A 37-year-old Zimbabwean tourist has died after being attacked by a shark while swimming in Cape Town. The South African National Sea Rescue Institute (SANSRI) said the attack occurred in Cape Towns Fish Hoek beach on Tuesday evening. There were plenty of eyewitnesses. There is no chance of survival, Ian Klopper, an official with the organization told media. The attack occurred at about 4 p.m.. A helicopter and four boats were used to search for the victims remains. SANSRI said it is unclear what type of shark attacked the man.
Mark Dotchin, chairman of the Western Cape Provinces lifesaving association told media, As of now, no body has been found. There was a lot of blood in the water. Attacks of this nature are prevalent at the beach at this time of the year. It is reported that the Zimbabwean national was swimming about 20 meters offshore when he was attacked by the white shark.
