Nkomo who had a stint as Bulawayo womens soccer team New Orleans coach says he has, with his accapella group the Cymbals, just released his latest album titled God is Great. This follows their 2007 production Usuku olumangalisayo.
I was born and brought up in a Seventh Day Adventist family. I have been singing all my life, he said, confirming his passion for music. Although Nkomo is now doing something different, he says his passion for coaching is as strong as ever and he hopes to revive his romance with soccer in the near future.
A former New Orleans junior player Nkomo also played for Rail Stars as a sweeper. He says; During my tenure as the New Orleans coach I won all the trophies which were on offer in womens soccer. Indeed I did put Zimbabwean womens soccer on the map.
He has also had stints as an assistant coach at Bulawayo provincial police sides such as Stops Camp and the Support Unit team. Nkomo says when he returns to coaching he will continue singing for as long as time allows him.
