Badruddin Mukadam, the team manager, said the 18-member squad was selected last year, played in a Zone Six tournament in Harare and also went on tour to Pretoria, South Africa last month. “The camp in Triangle is the final one and we are leaving for East London on 15 February. We are appealing for sponsors to cater for some of the expenses, those willing to sponsor the team should get hold of me,” said Mukadam.
Michael Stylianou, a talented sportsman from Christian Brothers College in Bulawayo is the team captain. St Johns College, Falcon College and Peterhouse dominate the squad with four players each, St Georges and CBC have two players while Petra and Eaglesvale contributed one each. The Youth Olympics African qualifiers would be held from 11 to 28 February
in East London.
Fidelis Majuba from Falcon College is the coach and his assistant is Christopher Davison.
