Villagers regret voting Moyo

jonathan_moyoTSHOLOTSHO Villagers here have said they regret ever voting former Information minister, Jonathan Moyo, (Pictured) as their parliamentary representative.

Moyo wooed voters in Tsholotsho to vote for him as an independent candidate. He also vowed, during his campaigns, that he would not rejoin the party that dented his political career in 2004 after it booted him from its ranks.

Moyo shocked all and sundry when he rejoined his former party ahead of the party’s December 2009 congress held in Harare.

“We know that trying to recall him will not work as there are no such laws in Zimbabwe. What we are going to do is snub whatever he comes with here as development,” said Never Nkomo, a villager in the constituency.

Clerk of Parliament, Austin Zvoma recently told journalists in Harare the Tsholotsho seat now belonged to Zanu (PF) as there was no law in Parliament that stopped independent legislators from joining political parties of their choice.
