War vets clash with residents

It was turned into resettlement area by the Mugabe government during the violent land invasions period in 2000Last week police had to be called to control the situation after violent clashes erupted between the Zanu (PF) supporters and residents. Zanu (PF) supporters accused locals of turning grazing land for their livestock into urban farming.

These people found us here and we are surprised why they should claim that this area is meant for their livestock, that is rubbish, said Mpho Nyoni an Old Pumula resident. Chairman for Robert Sinyoka residents association Fortune Matewele called for the Ministry of Lands to intervene saying that the situation could ugly.
