Dynamos secretary general Stan Kasukuwere told The Zimbabwean on Sunday last week that they were still pursuing Ngodzos signature despite Bosso refusing to release him to their bitter rivals who are preparing for the African Champions League.
“We are aiming to win the league title this season and we also want the African Champions League title so we will try to make sure the coach has the players he wants at his disposal. We will put together another proposal and see how it goes from there. The coach wants him in the squad and we try to bring him to Harare,” said Kasukuwere. Highlanders are reported to have rejected a US$20 000 bid from Dynamos insisting that their prized possession is not up for sale.
However, Highlanders chairman Themba Ndlela insisted that they would not be releasing Ngodzo to any team as they were also aiming for the league title this season. “The coach has plans with him this season and it is highly unlikely that he will go. He is also aiming to win the league title and I don’t think it will be possible to release him,” said Ndlela.
Dynamos, who received a bye into the first round when the draw for the African Champions League was conducted, had already registered Ngodzo for the African competition even though they had not concluded any deals with his team.
The move by Dynamos to go and register the player for the African safari without Bosso’s consent has reportedly not gone down well with the Bulawayo side who accused DeMbare of doing things behind their back.
