So when Mary said those words in Luke 1:38, And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. – You know what she did? She opened up her heart, not only spiritually, but I mean physically. So her womb was opened and the Word that had been prophesied, all hundreds and thousands of words spoken about the Messiah, entered Marys womb, and the Word became the incorruptible seed that conceived Jesus. The only thing that was abnormal was the conception, the Word provided the seed, everything else about the birth was normal.
This is powerful! This answers a lot of questions for me. If you can understand this, it will make a lot of things clear. This brings up the question, why dont we receive the miracles we want? This is because there is a similar pattern to what happened to Mary. Only with us it is spiritual. The conception process must take place in our spiritual womb so that we can receive a miracle from God. Why did Jesus have to be carried in the womb and be born an infant? Why didnt God make Jesus like He made Adam, full grown? This goes back to the laws put in motion. God didnt have the right to intervene and change things and just create a man.
The reason why we dont receive from God is we are waiting for God to snap His fingers and for someone to be healed. This is completely separate from faith, completely separate from understanding the laws that govern faith, and all these kind of things. We think if He really wanted to do it, He could. The way that 4000 years had to go by, the fact that an angel had to speak the word to Mary and the fact that the Child had to go through the birth process, shows God cannot violate His Word. There are laws that govern how faith works; there are laws that govern how people get saved. There are laws why people get healed, why people get free of depression. Its not because God says well I like you, you have done some good works, so Im going to heal you. But you havent done enough, so I dont like you, so Im not going to heal you.
If Mary had not responded to what Gabriel was saying and if she had rejected these words that were spoken to her, because it was going to ruin her life. What is Joseph going to think? What would people think? She had to receive the Word. Its the same with us. Many of us are praying for a miracle, but we dont want to conceive it. Its like the birth of Jesus, it had to be conceived, and when that conception took place it was just between her and the Lord. Nobody was there, nobody else saw this.
We know that when a woman falls pregnant, for the first month or two she doesnt even know she is pregnant. At the very beginning when conception takes place there is no visible or physical evidence whatsoever. Its only after awhile does the woman know she is pregnant. Initially there are no physical signs but later on her belly begins to swell and even then people may initially think or comment that the dear lady is gaining weight. But a point comes in the pregnancy that there is no doubt that she is pregnant. When a woman gives birth, that is not when that child starts to grow. It happened nine months before.

We have already discussed why it took God so long to send Jesus. If you have not read about this, contact the newspaper for those articles, or check on the website www.thezimbabwean.co.uk
