The producers simultaneously announced the release of Zimbabwe Today: New Music From Africa, the first compilation of contemporary Zimbabwean music released in over 10 years. Featuring tracks from 11 of Zimbabwes leading artists, the album brings the exciting and previously unavailable sounds of modern Zimbabwe to the world at large.
And the producers have a big heart. A portion of all proceeds from this album are donated to Tariro: Hope and Health For Zimbabwes Orphans, a public betterment organization devoted to the education and empowerment of orphaned Zimbabwean girls.
The new additions to its line up include Zimbabwean stars: Bongo Love, Mathias Julius, and Willis Wataffi. After several major US tours (which included three sold-out Madison Square Garden performances with legendary rock group, Dispatch), the group has developed a major following in North America and Europe and is known for its distinct blend of traditional and popular sounds.
Former member of the renowned duo, Afrika Revenge, Willis Wataffi has been making major waves with his solo work and debut album, ZhiZha. Currently working on his second solo album in South Africa, Wataffi is undoubtedly ready to reach out to a worldwide audience with his catchy new songs and partnership with Wide World Artists.
