Last week a Zanu (PF) official, known as Chikanya, of Cherutombo suburb, clad in Zanu (PF) regalia, began confessing her crimes. She headed for the Zanu (PF) provincial headquarters and told party officials that she wanted to confess because she was experiencing hardships with life. Other Zanu (PF) officials dismissed her intentions as the plans of a drunkard. Little did they realize hell was about to break loose.
Chikanya left the party offices and went to the town bus terminus, where she gathered a crowd and narrated names and how they killed MDC activists in the run up to the June 2008 sham elections. She gave a precise account of the chilling and gruesome murders. Names of perpetrators and victims were accurately spelt out. A Zanu (PF) truck was rushed to the scene but she refused to be driven away.
She said: Be warned that anyone who dares continue propping up MDC political ambitions will face the fate which befell Carpenter Portifa Bakayimana and Kainos Betera. We taught them a harsh lesson before dumping them in Wenimbe dam. This is the Zanu (PF) way of disciplining traitors.
I can see that most of you here are political traitors and betrayers. My youths please take note of these treacherous elements. Come nighttime, I will swing into action and get rid of them. Zobha, service the truck, tonight we will be on a hectic mission. Lest you forget, Zanu (PF) is a blood-thirsty party.
Bakayimana and Kainos thought they could further MDC aspirations of wrestling this province from Zanu (PF) and hand it back to whites. We proved them wrong. Where are they now? (Bakayimana was MDC district chairman while Kainos was a youth organizer. They were both abducted by known state security agents on 22 May 2008 and are still missing.)
Anyone who dare repeat their mistakes will end up in Wenimbe dam tonight. I personally initiated abduction of Bakayimana and Kainos. We tortured them at Hurudza House (CIO offices) for weeks, before taking them to various secret locations. We wanted to use them as bait to lure Ian Kay and Farai Nyandoro to our killing grounds. (Kay and Nyandoro are MDC member of parliament for Marondera urban and mayor respectively).
We even forced the captives to make distress phone calls for help from Kay and Nyandoro. When the plot failed, we had no option but to assassinate them and dump their corpses in Wenimbe dam. This is a Zanu (PF) tried and tested solution for dealing with betrayers, dating back to the liberation struggle. Further details of her chilling confession will be carried in Thursdays edition of The Zimbabwean.
