Their stories primarily focus on Harare but they cross the border and visit one of Africa’s most dangerous townships, Soweto, in neighbouring South Africa.
The mixed tape, from a band called Crook, was originally entitled From Dusk Til Dawn. It explores the crooked mentalities, fantasies, exposures, hunger and desire of a generation that wants to get rich quick (the dark, Dusk side of the world).
This compilation addresses issues like struggle, pain, hurt, hate, deception, love, determination, ambition and success.
Crook Ave consists of Rayze’Em, Tresspasser, 3Mics, and Killah Bishop. Rayze’Em is currently based in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, while Tresspasser, 3Mics, and Killah Biship are currently in Zimbabwe running a Hip-Hop battle and performance event called The Circle.
