Police confirmed the arrest of Easter Chikenyere, Edwin Masirivha, Western Tizora and Job Marowa, and the four have appeared in court, where they were remanded out of custody by magistrate Lucy Mungwari.

Chinyekere was granted US$2,700 bail, while the other three were granted US$1,000 bail, with stringent reporting conditions.

The State had opposed bail, saying that the chances were high of the defendants absconding and interfering with witnesses. They were instead ordered to surrender their travel documents, reside at their given addresses and report to CID in Mutare.

Charges against the four arose between October and December last year when Masirivha, who was employed by FBC as a bank officer, is alleged to have connived with Marowa to transfer huge deposits into Tizora and Marowas company account.

The court heard that Easter Chinyekere would then authorise withdrawals, since she was the bank operations manager. The four are then alleged to have shared the spoils.
