Harare amongst the worst

harareHARARE Zimbabwes capital was named among the worst city to live in the world in a survey of 140 cities by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).


The survey looked at key indicators such as stability, health care, culture and environment, education and infrastructure with Harare that suffered a devastating cholera outbreak that affected other Zimbabwean cities in 2008 scoring poorly in all categories.??

Other inhospitable cities include Bangladeshs Dhaka capital and the Alegrian capital, Algiers.

Vancouver in Canada was again named the top city, followed by Vienna then Melbourne.

The rating by the influential EIU of Harare as the worlds most inhospitable capital will come as a blow to efforts by Zimbabwe tourism authorities to market the country ahead of the FIFA World Cup tournament oin South Africa in June.
