stalling development in the area, a local councillor has said.

Projects cited by the councillor included the handover of timber to manufacture school furniture, when Sako offered to make furniture for the community free of charge.

Elijah Mugebe, the ward 12 councillor, said the timber has not been delivered to them by a local company they had approached for help.

Almost 12 schools in the district are facing a serious shortage of furniture, but the politicians are blocking for self-serving political motives, he said.

Sako, who was promoted at last years Zanu(PF)Youth Congress, is seen as a possible threat who can oust Undenge in the next election.

The incumbent MP stands accused of not having initiated any developmental projects in the constituency since being elected.

Undenge thinks Sako will gain political mileage if he makes school furniture. So he is making every effort to block this development by conniving with some top officials at the timber company not to be generous to donate timber, said another MDC (T) councillor.

Meanwhile, most students at Tabanju, Cashel, Mutsamvu and Mabumba were having to sit on the floor for their lessons.
