Nyamandlovu – Fresh farm invasions have been reported in Nyamandlovu area where 8 white farmers have allegedly been displaced from their farms. A resettled farmer from the area said that not only the white farmers have been affected but the invaders are alleged to be displacing suspected MDC supporters.
Harare– The Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (TUZ) President Lovemore Mufamba has said that all the areas of the country that have received news of the nationwide strike have joined the full boycott. He said that in those areas that have not yet received the circular, workers are reportedly on a go slow. He called on the teachers to desist from accepting incentives from parents noting that this might detract the workers from an industrial action.
Bulawayo– The Consumer Council of Zimbabwe has discouraged Government from calling for service providers to reduce tariffs to match regional standards until they give civil servants a salary that is similar to what civil servants in the region are earning. Comfort Muchekeza, the CCZ regional manager said it is impossible for the government to look at one aspect of the economy. He said the government should make efforts to increase civil servants salaries so that workers are able to meet their service bills.
This comes after the meeting that was held by civil servants representatives and government where a declaration was made that service providers reduce their tariffs or cancel them out.
