HARARE - Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed TN Bank has become the first bank in the country to introduce ....an on and offline Cash Card, that eliminates inconveniences caused by power blackouts.
Plastic money is still not popular here where the majority rely on cash transactions, however, there have been calls by banks for people to switch to plastic money in an effort to combat power black outs.
“The offline functionality of the TN Cash Card presents TN bank with numerous opportunities to offer this product to both urban and rural customers across the whole country, a statement from TN bank read. “In addition to its offline functionality, the TN Cash Card offers customers a secure way of transacting as it eliminates the need for customers to carry cash.
A person can load cash onto the card and use it at various points of sale with no withdrawal limit. The bank plans to roll out Point of Sale machines to service stations, public markets, street vendors, public transport facilities and public utilities such as municipality banking halls and power utilities.
