MAKONI SOUTH Agriculture and irrigation technology minister Joseph Madetargeted sanctions had caused government failures to subsidise their fertiliser.
Made had been visiting the area to access the impact of prolonged dry spell. He seized on the opportunity to preach Zanu (PF) propaganda that the targeted sanctions were affecting governments programmes to empower villagers.
Villagers, though, said fertiliser was distributed at Rusape Grain Marketing Board depot along party lines. They alleged that only Zanu (PF) card-carrying members got inputs.

The minister is crazy. How can he tell us about sanctions when they know that they are specifically targeted to them. We cannot be fooled by this sanctions issue, said Moses Mupanda of ward 23.
Villagers said they would stand by their MP despite propaganda being preached by Zanu (PF).
Made is the former legislator of the constituency, but lost to Webber Chinyadza of the MDC (T) and villagers claimed he was now trying to make a comeback through unorthodox means.
