in the national soccer team’s 2-1 triumph over Swaziland in the African Nations Championship qualifier at the weekend.

The former Highlanders and Chapungu marksman did not disappoint after he was introduced as a second half substitute. He scored the goal at 72 minutes, securing a crucial victory for the second leg of the tournament in Harare in two weeks time.

Another Dynamos player: gritty midfielder, Ashley Rambanepasi, thrust the Warriors into the lead earlier in the first half when he drilled a low shot after just 16 minutes. But their lead was cancelled only 40 seconds into the second half as the home team equalised.

However, the Warriors restored their lead after tactical substitution by Chidzambwa that eventually saw the Warriors emerging victorious. The veteran coach said although his charges conceded a silly goal he was happy with the way they applied themselves in the second half.

Chidzambwa singled out Malajila whom he said changed the game soon after his introduction.

“He played according to instructions. I liked his aggression and pace. He showed he was hungry for goals. This is the kind of performance that we want always,” said Chidzambwa.
