The tri-annual exhibition is the biggest fair in the Southern Region and attracts over 200 buyers, as well as visitors from the region and the rest of the continent. Head of delegation and organiser to the fair, Christian Friends of Southern Africa, told The Zimbabwean that a total of 50 companies would travel to South Africa for the exhibition set for May 5-11. Director of the organisation, Dr. Arthur Grey, said the exhibition offered local firms an opportunity to market their products and strike deals, as a number of business forums and seminars had been lined-up with major South African companies.
A group of about 50 Zimbabwean companies involved in agriculture will in May take part at the Agrictech International Exhibition in South Africa, Grey said, adding that the number had been increased from 25 in 2009 after local products impressed the South African authorities. Grey urged local firms to take advantage of the international fair. This fair presents an opportunity for our companies to market their goods to the international world and boost their exports, he said. The fair, he added, would also enable the country to source inputs ahead of the 2010 rainy season.
