according to Maria Nita Dengo Chonguica, the Programme Officer of The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF).
The comment was made at the official handover of library books to Africa University last week. The library books were procured by the Public Sector Management Training Programme (PSMTP).
Speaking at the handover, Chonguica stressed the importance of libraries in institutions.
Libraries play an important role in institutions as they help students in their studies. I want to also encourage African students to invest in education since it brings aggressive benefit for countries and Africa as a continent, she said.
The Africa University library is stocked with current literature on public sector management among other various educational books.
I am so proud of this event because looking at other libraries in Zimbabwe, they do not have adequate resources due to economical hardships and I am so proud about this donation, she said.
John Kwandayi, the PSMTP Africa University coordinator, said the programme was designed to help equip African public sector managers with skills and competencies to enable the continent to meet its development challenges.
It was also set to improve the performance of the public sector through the provision of a balanced academic and professional training in Public Sector Management in Africa, he said.
Our mandate is to provide graduate training leading to a Masters Degree in Public Sector Management for middle and high-level public sector managers from Eastern and Southern Anglophone African countries, he said.
