Nkomo, who is President Robert Mugabes close ally, was appointed as the countrys Vice President last year after he was endorsed by a Zanu (PF) congress. He replaced the late Joseph Msika and represents the old PF Zapu in government. Addressing journalists in Bulawayo on Friday Ibetshu Likazulu chairman. Qhubekani Dube. described Nkomo as a weak leader who had failed to represent the people of Matabeleland in government.

Nkomo is just a confused guy, who is there at the top to wine and dine with other Zanu (PF) chefs. Since he was appointed as vice president last year he has never said anything about Matabeleland, said Dube. Dube also said his organization will soon petition Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai to fulfil a promise he made before entering government that a Gukurahundi compensation fund will be formed.
