Ray, who was speaking to journalists in Bulawayo last week, said progress in Zimbabwe depended on full implementation of the power-sharing agreement or global political agreement (GPA) that gave birth to the Harare unity government.
At the moment, Zimbabwe is at a juncture, at a road that it can turn into chaos or turn into the road into recovery, Ray said. The road to recovery is a rough one, it is tough and it all depends on the full implementation of the global political agreement.
Zimbabwe once had one of Africas most vibrant economies but suffered one of its worst ever recession over the past decade that critics blame on wrong policies by long ruling by President Robert Mugabe such as his farm seizure programme.
The meltdown has decimated the economy to leave it a pale shadow of its former self while millions of the countrys best qualified professionals have fled to neighboruing countries and as far afield as Britain and Australia in search for better jobs and living conditions.
The unity governmnet has promised to rebuild the economy but remains hampered by inernal squabbling and failure to win financial support from Western powers and multilateral institutions.
