Now if the wealthiest man in the world died and he had one son and in his will he had left his entire fortune to him, but the son would not spend a cent, because before he could use the money, he would have to ask his father, and since he was dead, he had a problem. Anyone in the world who read this story would think the son is crazy. Yet that is what we do! In Hebrews 9:23-24 it says, For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead, otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
In Galatians 4:1-7 it says, Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth in nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all. But he is under tutors and governors until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father.” Therefore thou art no more a servant but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ
What these two scriptures are saying is until Jesus died, the Old Law or Testament was still in force and, like the rich mans son, we only received the inheritance once Jesus died. Now that He has paid the price, we are a son an heir of God! Thats awesome!
In Galatians 3:13, it mentions when Jesus died and rose from the dead, the old covenant and all its curses and death was paid for once and for all. All Gods wealth, blessing, peace, joy and love have been given to us the born again believers. Praise His name! All we need to do is appropriate it! As I have mentioned in a previous article, what God is looking for is for people to become part of the Joshua generation, and like the Israelites with Joshua, God said I have given you the land go and take it. Did they just waltz in take it? No they had to appropriate by fighting and so we have been given everything, Ephesians 1:3 says, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
God wants to reveal Himself through His family; He wants to show the world He is a good God, a loving God, and a generous God. Unfortunately religion has given the world the impression that God is mean and angry, so much so if there is a tornado or an earthquake, the insurance people have a phrase and we all know it, an act of God. Where did they get that from? The religious people who say its God punishing the people, because of sin. Its Him that is bringing death and destruction.
