UK Zimbo outreach

LONDON The Zimbabwe Human Rights Forum has announced the first of its Transitional Justice workshops in the Diaspora.

This follows the Forum’s work on Transitional Justice undertaken throughout Zimbabwe in 2009/10, and the launch of their Transitional Justice Outreach to the Diaspora event at Chatham House on February 3 with Minister Sekai Holland. The workshop will be held in co-operation with the Council for Zimbabwe Christian Leaders in the UK (CZCLUK) and the Zimbabwe Association. These workshops aim to reach out to Zimbabweans in the Diaspora and consult around the preferred transitional justice options for Zimbabwe.

In this first workshop we are specifically targeting Zimbabweans based in London. Subsequent workshops will extend out around the UK. Facilitators will be the human rights lawyer and Executive Director of Zimbabwe Exiles Forum, Gabriel Shumba and Brian Penduka, the Programmes Co-ordinator of Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum, said a representative of the organisation. The first workshop will take place in London on April 15. Places are limited so the forum has requested that those interested in attending e-mail [email protected]
