The new plant is expected to be installed at the Bulawayo brewery plant before the of October this year. In a statement accompanying the financial results for the year ended March 31, 2010 company chairman, Robbie Mupawose said the project would put the group in a strong position. It would also make it possible for the company to meet the projected increased demand.
The second project underway is a new 42 000 bottles per hour plant which is presently in the process of manufacture and will be brought on line at the Bulawayo brewery before the end of October 2010, said Mupawose.
Plans are already at an advanced stage to bring online the $3,5 million PET plant for soft drinks to replace an older plant. Mupawose said Delta had acquired a 49 per cent shareholding in cordial maker, Schweppes Zimbabwe, whose other shareholders are managerial and non-managerial workers.
