Even though much of todays so-called prayer offends God, Hes big enough to put up with it. Our heavenly Father is great enough to put up with some immaturity in His beloved children.
What Im teaching against, I once did. God put up with me and even blessed me! He wasnt mad at me, but many of my prayers went unanswered. Im not saying God is mad at you because you may be praying incorrectly, Hes not. He is a good God and loves you, the only problem is like I was, you are snared by the words of your mouth.
Please keep an open heart as you read these articles and remain tuned into the Holy Spirit, Hes your Teacher and your Guide. If what you read offends you, dont throw the baby out with the bath water. When I first received this teaching, I had a lot of questions, but as I waited on the Lord, he directed me to other scriptures, which confirmed to me that I was on the right road.
If your prayers are not getting the desired result, instead of fasting more, giving more to try and manipulate God to answer, consider the fact it maybe that you are not on the right road. Im sure that you, like me, want your prayers to be answered.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father who seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. (Matt 6:6)
People read this verse and say one should not pray in public, but Jesus prayed in public. In Luke 11:1, Jesus was praying in public, and this is when the disciples asked Him to teach them to pray.
What Matthew 6:6 is saying is: do not be like the hypocrites who pray in public to gain the attention and recognition of the people around them. For example you may have heard people pray in a church in King James language, they never speak like that like and yet when they pray they use that language. All they are trying to do is impress those around and how spiritual they are. That is hypocritical. – If you have any questions or like to discuss anything I have written on email me at: [email protected]Post published in: Opinions
