The 22-year-old CAPS United and Zimbabwe international midfielder sealed a lucrative two-year deal with South African Premiership side Cape Town Ajax and is expected to join ABSA Premiership club on July 1 ahead of their pre-season training.

Rusike has been a key cog in CAPS United’s campaign in both the Confederation of African Football (CAF Cup) competition and in the domestic league.

He played an influential role in CAPS United’s sensational 2-0 win over Nigerian outfit Warri Wolves whom they booted out of the competition after the Harare giants had fallen 2-1 in the first leg in Nigeria.

The CAPS United midfielder last week told The Zimbabwean On Sunday that he would miss a club he said had become his second home.

“I will miss CAPS United for sure,” he said. “It’s hard to believe that I will be leaving them (CAPS United). CAPS United had become my second home since I was introduced to the club by former coach Moses Chunga. I really love the club. The fans are so passionate about the game. They cheer the team on even when we are not playing well.”

And no doubt CAPS will miss him too when in season that promises to be busy for the Harare club which is in the hunt for silverware both on the domestic front and in the Confederations Cup in July with Makepekepe squaring up against Sudanese

giants Al Hilal.
