Lions wreak havoc

Villagers told The Zimbabwean that they were now living in fear for their lives, while some have lost livestock to the predators. Mashonaland Central police spokesman, Assistant Inspector Petros Masikati, confirmed that villagers from Chidoroma village in Mbire had lost goats and cows to the lions.

Livestock is our source of wealth and there is need for urgent response from Parks, said Chimbare whose heifer was attacked and killed at his homestead.

Meanwhile, a Parks officials stationed at Mushumbi Pools said they had started tracking the lions with an endeavour to capture them. They urged the villagers not to walk in secluded areas alone.
