NCA, under the stewardship of Dr Lovemore Madhuku, is opposed to the parliament lead constitution making process and has since launched a campaign code named TAKE CHARGE, in revolt of the government led process.
NANGO chief executive, Cephas Zinhumwe, said in an interview that NCAs stance should not be completely ignored by the people of Zimbabwe.
NCA, under its take charge campaign, is recommending an amendment 20 of the constitution not 19, but 20 focusing on quick elections. They are saying if we have an amendment 20 we have elections first and there after focus on the constitution. There is a strong debate that under the current situation what ever constitution we are going to come out with will be a result of a compromise, and is that what we want? said Zinhumwe.
The constitution making process has which was according to GPA should have been done within 18 months from the formation of the inclusive government in February 2009 been not yet started.
