Arlman, who is based in Netherlands, was accompanied by his wife Kieke Arlman. Also present during the tour was Plan Vice-Chairman, Ezra Mbogori from Kenya and Country Director, Else Kragholm. The delegation visited several sites in the Marange area, which are being funded by the NGO. Addressing villagers at Matanda Secondary School, Arlman who was the guest of honour, officially opened a fully furnished two-classroom block.

Arlman, who has been holding the Plan executive post since December 2005, assured continued and unwavering support in all future community developmental projects, which deals with children, food security health, sanitation and education. Plan works together with various communities. It is the community that builds the structures, we only finance the projects and give ownership to the same community. Our core business is investing in the future of people, he said, adding that they anticipated a highly developed community in the next decade.

Matanda secondary school head, Herbert Chinasire said: We thank Plan for rendering support to the school and the community. Plan has been operating in Zimbabwe since 1986. Thousands of children have benefited from Plans interventions over the years especially in the area of education, health and food security. Currently, Plan Zimbabwe is working in 8 provinces districts and reaches out to approximately 700,000 children in direct and indirect support.
