Sibanda leads violence

jabulani_sibandaHARARE Intimidation continues to rise in Manicaland, with preparations for public hearings on a new Constitution characterised by threats of violence from war veteran leader, Jabulani Sibanda (Pictured).

Last Sunday a mob from Zanu (PF) led by Sibanda forced village heads and chiefs to convene meetings in their areas that he could address. “Sibanda is telling villagers that those who take part in the Constitution-making process and notable MDC supporters will be taught a lesson worse than that of June 2008,” an MDC statement reported.

Sibanda is escalating the tensions by urging his supporters to strike back “with an axe” if attacked. Sibanda has already covered the greater part of the province. He has been to Nyanga, Buhera North, Buhera West, Chipinge Central and Mutare South threatening well known MDC supporters.
