On May 14 2008, around nine men abducted 30-year-old Tonderai Ndira from his home in the township of Mabvuku, near Harare. A week later his body was found in a mortuary in Harare.

Tonderai was one of 190 people killed during Zimbabwe’s 2008 elections, and the story of the charismatic young activist who was prepared to die for a better future for his country and who had been arrested and tortured on multiple occasions was reported across the world.

The event will be held at Inn on the Green in London and includes a screening of documentary by the Peace and Solidarity Trust, traditional Zimbabwean food and music, and an auction of African artwork to raise money for school fees for Tonderai’s children in Zimbabwe.
