Zimbo denied bail

JOHANNESBURG - An attempt by a Zimbabwean man accused of murdering the AWB leader Eugene TerreBlanche hit a brick wall when the court denied him bail this week.

28-year-old Chris Mahlangu appeared at Ventersdorp magistrate court on Monday facing charges of murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, house breaking and criminal injury.

The court described him as a dangerous person in the society and a flight risk. What worked against Chris was the fact that he gave an incorrect address when arrested.

The investigating officer said Chriss uncle told him that he (Mahlangu) is from Zimbabwe and is called Rhangani. The suspect claims that he is a South African citizen who has two children with a South African woman.

Mahlangus lawyer Puna Moroko admitted that his client did not have an identity document.
