Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. (Matthew 6:10)
Jesus continued to praise God, declaring, Father, I know its Your will for things to be done on earth the way it is done in heaven. In heaven, theres no sickness. Therefore, its not Gods will for you to be sick! Theres no poverty in heaven. So its not Gods will for you to be poor here on earth! In the presence of the Lord there is abundant joy, shouting, singing, praising and worshiping. Thats what heaven is like, and its how He expects us to be here on earth!
Religion has sold some bad goods. Its taught us to always expect God to be annoyed. Its convinced us that we must constantly try and appease an angry God. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Thats not the way Father wants it to be. If Christians really understood this part of the model prayer, theyd stop believing that God is the one who brings bad things into our lives to teach us something.
God doesnt make people sick. He doesnt put poverty in your life. He doesnt cause your marriage to fail because you were not serving Him at the time. God didnt kill your child because you werent reading the Bible. Religion teaches that rubbish! Its no wonder we are not getting better results in prayer!
God wants His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven! This should be our guide for what we can expect from Him. We should pray what is already waiting for us in heaven would begin to manifest here in our lives on earth.
