Police say Joy Cassidy is suspected of causing thousands of dollars in damage to library books with liquids including ketchup, corn syrup and mayonnaise.
She was caught after having just allegedly dropped an open jar of mayonnaise into the drop box outside Ada County Library in Boise, reports the Idaho Statesman.
Police say 10 similar acts of vandalism have been committed at the library in little more than a year.
Officers had staked out the library car park, passing by the area regularly, and pulled over a car matching the description of a suspicious vehicle that seemed to be in the area every time vandalism has occurred.
Boise police spokesman Chuck McClure said officers pulled the vehicle over and talked with the driver, later identified as Ms Cassidy.
When police took her into custody, they found a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat of her car.
McClure said police have not yet determined a motive for the vandalism. Ms Cassidy has been charged with injury to property and carrying a concealed weapon.Post published in: News
