ZAPU restores order

zapu_congress_supportersHARARE - The Zimbabwe African People's Union (ZAPU) has restored order within its UK and Europe chapter after a fresh election for a provincial executive and elders committee supervised a NEC representative member.

More than 100 ZAPU members attended the general meeting where Dr Ralph Mguni was elected as chairperson under supervision by Mcleod Tshawe, member of the national executive and chairperson of the National Resource Mobilisation Committee of ZAPU.

Speaking after announcing the election results, Tshawe advised Mguni and his executive that they are now the authentic and official leaders of ZAPU in the UK and in Europe.

“I can now confirm that, this committee led by Dr. Ralph Mguni democratically elected in me and members presence today, is the authentic and recognised committee to lead ZAPU not only in the UK, but in Europe as well. I have the mandate to restore order in this province on behalf of the ZAPU National Executive and the national chairperson Dr. Dumiso Dabengwa” said Tshawe. “All members in this province must respect this executive. ZAPU members are disciplined and respect their leaders and elders.”

Tshawe said he regretted the behaviour of some individuals who refused to meet other members to solve political and leadership issues, and who chose to rather fuel confusion. He questioned their commitment to the progress of the party.
