BULAWAYO - The Zanu (PF) provincial chairman, Isaac Dakamela has been suspended over allegations that his executive failed to account for five beasts and money meant for the partys national peoples congress which was held in December last year in Harare.

Dakamela was suspended by the partys politburo members in Bulawayo on Saturday. We have decided to suspend him while we carry out investigations. There are reports that money donated from the congress last year was stolen, there are cases of meat theft as well. Investigations have to be done while he is not the chairmen to allow the process to move swiftly, said politburo member, Sikhanyiso Ndlovu when announcing Dakamelas suspension.

Ndlovu, who is the politburos secretary for education, also accused Dakamela of insubordination and lacking respect for the local party leadership. The party is one. The politburo and the central committee are part of the party. The chairman must work with the provincial politburo, but Dakamela wasnt, he said. Last week the party instituted some investigations on Dakamelas executive over allegations of stealing the beasts for the partys people congress.

Of the six beasts donated, the Bulawayo provincial executive allegedly forwarded only 100 kgs for the congress. Some of the donated beasts were allegedly discovered at a farm of one of the provincial executive member in Nyamandlovu. When reached for comment Dakamela referred all questions to Ndlovu.
