Highlanders wait for SRC clearance

BULAWAYO - Bulawayo Premiership giants Highlanders are set to play South African club Jomo Cosmos in Johannesburg in a match organised as part of an awareness programme on the xenophobic attacks which occurred in South Africa last year.

Highlanders secretary, Andrew Tapela, said the match had been scheduled for July 25 in Johannesburg and that the team management was now only waiting for clearance from the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC).

The SRC is the supreme decision sports making body in the country and any team that intends to make a foreign trip has to be cleared first by the commission.

The trip is on and we are just waiting for confirmation from PSL, ZIFA and the SRC,” said Tapela.
