Its your country

its_your_country1. I am surprised by some Zimbabweans who believe removing President Robert Mugabe, the individual, from power is the sole objective of the struggle for democracy. Wake up Zimbabweans; we are not fighting the physical Mugabe behind the spectacles.

What we are fighting against is the Mugabe legacy (Mugabeism). Whether he is alive or dead, Mugabeism- the legacy of impunity, violence, corruption, etc- will remain until we start working to uproot it. Hapana, Kwekwe.

2. I am disappointed that you are no longer delivering our favourite paper to Gazaland shopping centre and we now have to walk to Machipisa to get a copy and sometimes when we get there it will be finished. Please do something and bring back our favourite paper to Gazaland. Kenny wekuFio, Gazaland, Highfield.

3. Thank you for an informative paper, you are our link with our families in the diaspora because they get to read what is happening here and we get to read what is happening to them. Avid reader, Murehwa.

4. It is unfortunate that people who think they are South Africans are so selfish that they want to chase away their immigrant African brothers. What they do not know is that we are the same people, only separated by political boundaries.

One day it will be them running away from dictatorship and what are we supposed to do. Remember how in the 90s we sheltered Mozambicans who were fleeing their country because of war. We welcomed them and treated them like our own and some of them have made Zimbabwe their home.

This is an appeal to those selfish minds who think that they can do anything because they happen to be citizens of South Africa: we are all Africans and we really should not be fighting one another when we have so much problems to take care of. Baloyi Cape Town.
