MARONDERA - Paul Timba, father to MDC-T Minister for State Affairs in the Prime Ministers Office, Jameson Timba, has called on his son to serve national interests and desist from turning into a dictator. Timba was recently appointed Minister of State in Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirais office. He was Deputy Minister for Media, Information and Publicity before the recent MDC-T mini-cabinet reshuffle.
I call upon my son, Jameson, to uphold and maintain his childhood life principles. He is a peace loving, generous, kind, not power hungry and helpful to friends and relatives. I hope he will do MDC-T and the nation proud in his new office. At family level he took advice from younger brothers and sisters despite being the first born. Though his contributions in family affairs were most constructive and brilliant, he was never power hungry. He must maintain such attitude even in government for the country to develop, he said.
He added that his son was a born again Christian who feared God. This he said, should make the MDC-T legislator an exemplary politician who respects sacredness of human life. He said it was Gods plan to make his son a high profile Government Minister, not wisdom of man.
At childhood he showed a lot of bravery and played the cock, which defended colleagues. On one occasion he ran along Manda Street near Dombotombo Police Camp shouting that he was the real cock. He was born in Marondera in a family of 10 and attended Nhowe Mission , Goromonzi High and Bernard Mizeki. He later enrolled at the University of Zimbabwe for a degree in political sciences and a Masters in Business Administration.
He is a successful businessman in the financial sector.
