Farai, who proclaims to be The Prince of Sungura last year recorded his latest album Ngingo Ngingo (Thunderbolt) as well its DVD package with the firm.
In an interview with The Zimbabwean Farai said: The instruments have marked a turning point in my career. I have been struggling to make it big on the music scene owing to a number of setbacks, chief among them lack of instruments.
He added: This marked my return to the mainstream music scene, which will start with a series of comeback shows dubbed “Touya Kuvanhu ” (Reaching Out To The People) lined up across the country.
“This is part of thanking my fans for standing by me during hard times and also reminding them that we are still around,” he said adding that it was every musicians dream to own a kit.
Some companies promise heaven on earth and fail to deliver. I am however humbled by what Diamond Studios have done for me. This marks the beginning of a big difference in my music as I will have enough time for rehearsals and fulfil the demands of shows without having to worry about hiring equipment to use.
“If a musician doesnt own a kit, he or she is like a slave to others, and doesnt have the capacity to develop to higher levels. The biggest weapon that a musician can have is the kit, ndiro badza remundima medu (Musical instruments are the chief weapon in music business),” said Farai.
